Linkasink has adapted the design motif and colors
from an inspiration piece originally from China to create its
Blue and White vessel sink. This porcelain sink is hand-thrown
and decorated by artisans in China who have carried the ancient
traditions into their work in the 21st century.

This sink was adapted from a Chinese blue and white
vase housed in the Anthropology collections of the Smithsonian
Institution's National Museum of Natural History. Such overall
floral motifs are often found in Chinese blue and white ware,
which flourished in the Yuan Dynasty. The blue color is obtained
by applying cobalt directly to the ceramic ware as an under-glaze.
